How Verde Waste Management Ltd collects, uses and looks after your personal information. We only use it to quote, book, collect and pay. We never sell it.

Last updated: 22 October 2026

Who we are

Verde Waste Management Ltd is a family business based in Glasgow. We're a company registered in Scotland, company number SC829546. We're responsible for your personal information (in data protection terms, we're the "controller").

If you have any questions about this notice or your information, get in touch:

What we collect and how

We only collect what we need to give you a quote and do the job.

  • WhatsApp quotes. When you message us on WhatsApp, we get your name, phone number and WhatsApp profile name. We also get what you send us, usually your address or postcode, photos or videos of the waste, and a description of what needs to go. WhatsApp is run by WhatsApp (part of Meta), and their own privacy policy covers how they handle messages.
  • Phone calls. If you call us, we see your phone number and take notes of your name, address and the job details.
  • Booking form. Our online booking form is run by JotForm. When you fill it in, JotForm stores what you enter (such as your name, contact details, address and job details) for us. JotForm acts only on our instructions.
  • Email. If you email us, we get your email address and whatever you include in your message.
  • Collections and payments. For the job itself, we keep a record of what we collected, where, when and the price. When we buy scrap metal, we pay you by instant bank transfer on the spot, so we need the bank details you give us to make that payment. If the law requires us to check ID or keep records for a scrap metal or vehicle purchase, we'll do that too.
  • Waste paperwork. For trade and business customers, we complete waste transfer notes as the law requires. These include your business name and contact details.

How we use it

We use your information only to:

  • give you a quote
  • book and carry out your collection or clearance
  • make or take payment, including instant payment for scrap
  • complete the paperwork the law requires
  • answer your questions and deal with any problems

We don't sell your information, we don't share it for other companies' marketing, and we don't add you to a mailing list.

Our legal reasons

Data protection law says we need a lawful reason to use your information. Ours are:

  • To give you a quote and do the job you ask for (taking steps before, and carrying out, a contract with you).
  • To meet our legal duties, such as waste paperwork, tax and accounting records, and any records the law requires for scrap purchases.
  • Our legitimate interests in running the business properly, such as keeping basic job records and dealing with complaints.

Who we share it with

Only our own team sees your information, plus a few trusted services that help us run the business:

  • WhatsApp, for messages you send us
  • JotForm, for the booking form
  • our email and phone providers
  • our bank, to make and receive payments
  • our accountants, for our business records

We'll also share information with authorities such as SEPA, HMRC or the police, but only when the law requires it. Some of these services may store information outside the UK. Where they do, they have to protect it to UK standards.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only for as long as we need it:

  • Quotes that don't go ahead. We delete the photos, videos and messages when we no longer need them.
  • Jobs, payments and waste paperwork. We keep these for as long as the law requires for business, tax and waste records, and then delete them safely.

This website

This website doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies, and we don't track you around the web. Some parts of the site load content from other companies:

  • the text font, which comes from Google Fonts
  • the booking form, which comes from JotForm
  • the Instagram feed on the homepage, which comes from Elfsight

When these load, your browser connects to those companies, and they see your IP address. They may also set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. Links to WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok take you to those apps or sites, where their own policies apply.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct anything that's wrong
  • ask us to delete your information
  • ask us to limit how we use it, or object to how we use it
  • ask us to send your information to you or someone else in a usable format

Some of these rights depend on our legal reason for using your information. For example, we may need to keep payment or waste records the law requires. To use any of your rights, email info@verdewastemanagement.co.uk or call 0141 471 4060. It's usually free, and we'll reply within one month.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator. You can do this at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113.
